'This Is Hitlershahi': Kharge Says Oppn Not Being Allowed To Speak In Rajya Sabha
The Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha slammed the government and said that the Centre is doing 'Hitlershahi' in Parliament by not allowing the opposition leaders to speak.
New Delhi: Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday called the conduct of the Centre in Parliament 'Hitlershahi' and said that the government is controlling the House through the Chairman. Kharge said that the leaders of opposition parties are not being allowed to speak in the Rajya Sabha and his own mic was switched off, adding 'this is my insult'. Leaders of several opposition parties including BRS, DMK, JMM and AAP among others were present in the press briefing.
"The government is not allowing us to speak in the Rajya Sabha, we want the PM to come and answer in the House, but he is going to the election states, today he is in Pune," Kharge said.
Attacking PM Modi, Kharge said, "He (PM) makes comment outside, you speak in the House, we will answer. He doesn't have time to make a short statement on Manipur. There is a lot of difference between 267 and 176. On one hand, such a big incident took place. Women were paraded (naked in Manipur)."
"Opposition is ready for discussion, that's why 65 people gave notice of discussion under 267. So far, I have given notices seven times under 267," Kharge added.

Recalling an old incident when migrants were attacked in the northeast during Manmohan Singh's tenure, Kharge said, "On 17 August 2012, Question Hour was adjourned and PM Manmohan Singh participated in the discussion and responded to a question raised by a BJP MP regarding attacks on migrants from the Northeast. Vajpayee had also given answer on such kind of issue."
"Today we are being threatened. It is being said that we will get a good lesson. The government is getting this done through the Chairman. This is Hitlershahi, this is dictatorship," Khare told the media.
"My mic is turned off in ten seconds. This is my insult," he said accusing the government of handling the proceedings through the Rajya Sabha Chairman.
Kharge said that the leaders of 'INDIA' alliance will not fear this and will keep fighting. He claimed that the alliance will win the 2024 general elections, adding "let them do injustice, we will keep fighting".
