Naveen Patnaik Worked From Own Residence For Over 2 Decades

Before Majhi's appointment as the CM, Odisha did not have an official CM's residence as former CM Naveen Patnaik opted to work from his own home rather than a government-allocated house.

During his two-decade tenure, he carried out all the work from his own residence 'Naveen Niwas', which served as CM's office.

Naveen Niwas was built by Naveen Patnaik's father and former CM of Odisha Biju Patnaik.

After Majhi won the Assembly elections, bagging 147 seats, Odisha's administration began its efforts to find a suitable official residence for the new CM.

Several vacant quarters, including CM's Grievance Cell, were shortlisted for Majhi's official residence.
