'Not A Circus Or Cinema': Kerala HC Judge Lashes Out At Virtual Attendee For Not Wearing Shirt

A Kerala High Court judge on Wednesday lashed out at one of the attendees of the virtual proceedings after the concerned person was seen on camera without a shirt.

New Delhi: After the coronavirus-induced pandemic spread its tentacle in early 2020, people were forced to stay at home. With isolation, quarantine, and social distancing becoming the new norm the world adopted new measures of working online.

Besides essential workers, most of the population during the pandemic in one way or the other made itself comfortable with virtual appearances. As Zoom, Google Meet, or any other online meeting options became popular plenty of eventful incidents like "Shweta Ki Call" also made inroads.

Now one such incident has come to light but the goof-up is more on a serious note.

A Kerala High Court judge on Wednesday lashed out at one of the attendees of the virtual proceedings after the concerned person was seen on camera without a shirt.

"What is this? What is going on? This is a court, not a circus or a cinema," Justice Devan Ramachandran said.

Despite the faux pas being pointed out twice, the individual concerned was slow to act which prompted Justice Ramachandran to say he will remove such persons from the proceedings.

"I will be forced to remove people (from virtual hearing) if they show up for hearing like this," he warned.

The individual concerned, thereafter, logged out.

The high court has been holding virtual proceedings since the COVID-19 outbreak last year.
