Noorpur bypoll result: BJP's Avani Singh accepts defeat, says 'we gave a tough fight'
When ABP News tried to seek a response from Avani Singh on the reason behind BJP’s probable loss in Noorpur, she said, “We have gained 11,000 votes. We gave a tough fight. Many a times voters get swayed. We will win again.”
New Delhi: Samajwadi Party candidate Nameeul Hasan has established a comfortable lead over BJP’s Avani Singh in UP’s Noorpur bypoll seat, Thursday afternoon trends indicated. Avani is trailing behind by a massive 9,500 votes.
The Noorpur Assembly seat was necessitated due to the death of BJP MLA Lokendra Singh Chauhan in a road accident in February this year.
While BJP reposed faith in Avani Singh, wife of late MLA Lokendra Chauhan, as its candidate, the SP fielded Naeemul Hasan as its nominee.
With the SP taking an unassailable lead here, the BJP has suffered a major setback.
When ABP News tried to seek a response from Avani Singh on the reason behind BJP’s loss in Noorpur, she said, “We have gained 11,000 votes. We gave a tough fight. Many a times voters get swayed. We will win again.”
This the second jolt to BJP after trends indicated that it is likely to lose Kairana Lok Sabha bypoll seat to RLD.
The bypolls results in Uttar Pradesh are a proof that the united opposition has rallied effectively to ensure BJP does not secure power again in both the seats.
Noorpur Assembly constituency has 3.06 lakh voters. Bypolls were held on May 28.
