Nirbhaya Rapists' Lawyer Trolled Over Remarks On Farmers' Protest, Shaheen Bagh Agitation; Know All About It
AP Singh was among the lawyers who were a part of the Supreme Court hearing on Tuesday and he made remarks about the Shaheen Bagh protests. Here's why the infamous Nirbhaya rapists' lawyer is being trolled.
Like so many others, I fully support the right of farmers to protest peacefully. But for the lawyer representing them to effectively call Shaheen Bagh protests unpatriotic is unacceptable. That is the language of RSS & BJP. https://t.co/ADdnmzPvwf

Earlier, AP Singh is reported to have assured the top court that women, elders, and children will not participate in the ongoing farmers' protests, a stand appreciated by the bench. This also has been criticised by a section of people terming the assurance as being 'sexist' since women's participation is being discouraged.Shaheen Bagh protest was not patriotic? Why???? Coz it was us 'muslims' asking and fighting for our right? https://t.co/Ym6o2gLpm3

Why shouldn't women be allowed to protest. Its a fundamental right! Surprised at what seems to be a sexist comment from the #CJI @SCofInd @LiveLawIndia https://t.co/eCyj8R4vc0

Notably, activist and Swaraj India Party President Yogendra Yadav reported that no such understanding of sending back women and children was reached with agitating farmers.I would like to put on record, I am an activist, an adult, independent woman. I earn my own bread. I refuse to take any dictation. I will continue to participate in protests in future. Article 14 guarantees to all persons equality before the law and equal protection of the laws. https://t.co/twUa2JHEBT

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court put a stay on implementation of agrarian laws while constituting a 4-member committee which is again being debated over. Farmer leaders claimed that the central government is getting this done through the top court as the members publically supported the legislation earlier.Seems AP Singh is lying to the Supreme Court. I spoke to Mr Bhanu, President of BKU (Bhanu) after reading this. He confirmed to me that Mr Singh did not speak to him yesterday or today and that there is no question of his organisation asking women and elders to go back. pic.twitter.com/adKeZPj0Qg
