'20 Kg RDX, 20 Sleeper Cells': Threat Mail Sent To NIA Claims Plot To Kill PM Modi
The threat mail mentioned that he was ready to harm millions of people along with PM Modi.
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency has received an e-mail threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The sender of the email said he was going to commit suicide so that the conspiracy could not be exposed, sources told ABP News.
The sender said at least 20 sleeper cells had been activated for the plan to assassinate PM Modi. These sleeper cells are also in possession of 20kg RDX, the email said.
The threat mail mentioned that he was ready to harm millions of people along with PM Modi.
"...I have met with some terrorists, they are going to help with rdx, I am happy that I have got bombs very easily and now I will blast everywhere... I have planned it, 20 sleeper cells will be activated and millions of people will be killed," the mail said.
The Mumbai branch of NIA, which has received the email, has shared the informationwith various other agencies.
The mail has sent NIA and other intelligence agencies into a tizzy and they are trying to trace the sender. The intelligence agencies are tracking the IP address of the sender.
The National Investigation Agency is the primary counter-terrorist task force of India.
Reacting to the letter, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil told ANI, "If anyone threatens the country's PM, it's not right. This will be investigated if it's (letter) from Maharashtra. The truth will be revealed."
In 2018, Maharashtra police told a court that a plot to assassinate PM Modi in a "Rajiv Gandhi-type incident" during one of his roadshows was revealed in a letter seized from a suspected Maoist.
The letter, dated April 18 2017 and addressed to one "Comrade Prakash", was found from the home of Delhi-based activist Rona Wilson, the police claimed.
