Mumbai: Bomb Threat At 3 Railway Stations, Amitabh Bachchan's Residence Causes Scare; Security Beefed Up
Mumbai Police Control Room received a phone call last night, threatening that bombs have been placed at CSMT, Byculla Station, Dadar Station and actor Amitabh Bachchan's residence.
Mumbai: A bomb threat call has created a panic in Mumbai forcing the heavy deployment of security at three prominent railway stations and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow.
As per the early inputs, Mumbai Police Control Room received a phone call last night, threatening that bombs have been placed at four locations across Mumbai.
Speaking to the media about the anonymous call, Mumbai police official said that after getting the call, the Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, dog squads and local police personnel rushed to these locations and carried out a search operation. In the probe, it was found to be hoax call."
"The person, that called the Police Control Room, stated that bombs have been placed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) , Byculla Station, Dadar Station and residence of actor Amitabh Bachchan. In the search & probe, it was found to be a hoax call," Mumbai police said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
"Nothing suspicious has been found so far at these places, but heavy police deployment has been put in place at there," the official added.
The police team is tracing the caller and his location. Mumbai Crime Branch's CIU (Crime Intelligence Unit) has detained two people so far in the matter. They are being questioned in connection with the hoax phone call, received by Mumbai Police last night, that mentioned the presence of bombs at four different locations across the city.
Meanwhile, the security has been beefed up at all the mentioined four locations in the fanancial capital as a precaution.
