New Delhi: The monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' radio broadcast hosted by Prime Minister Modi, in which he addresses the people of the country on different topics, ranging from environment, cleanliness to social issues, will complete its 100th episode today.
It was first aired on October 3, 2014, and is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month at 11 am on the entire All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan (DD) network.
The Mann Ki Baat program has been translated into 23 Indian languages and 29 dialects.
Speaking ahead of the 100th episode, PM Modi said, "Mann Ki Baat has become a very good platform to highlight the specialities of the people of India and praise the uniqueness of the country."
"Like you, I am also eagerly awaiting the 100th episode," he added.
100th Mann Ki Baat To Go Global
PM Modi will address the 100th episode of his radio talk "Mann Ki Baat" at 11 am today. It will be broadcasted live at the UN headquarters in New York as well. It will be broadcast in the Trusteeship Council Chamber of the United Nations.
“Get ready for a historic moment as the 100th episode of PM Modi’s ‘’Mann Ki Baat‘’ is set to go live on April 30th in Trusteeship Council Chamber at @UN HQ!" the Permanent Mission of India to the UN said in a tweet.
The Consulate General of India in New York, in collaboration with community organisations, is also hosting a special event at 1:30 am Sunday to broadcast the 100th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' for members of the Indian-American and diaspora community in New Jersey.
Impact Of PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat Initiative
The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (NIRDPR) of Hyderabad has conducted a study on the impact of PM's Mann ki Baat initiative in two Rural Development Programs- SHG and Amrit Sarovar. According to the findings of this study, the Self Help Groups (SHGs) the way to not just focus on savings, but also move towards being micro-enterprises, which PM Modi will share in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme.
The findings of the study were bought out as a report titled 'In search of Excellence in Rural Transformation: The Maan Ki Baat Stories' was released on Friday. There are more than 80 lakh self-help groups in the country and around 8 crore women are associated with it.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke like a pradhan sevak during the 100th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' and there is no politics in the radio broadcast, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Sunday, countering the Congress' criticism of the programme.
"PM Modi spoke to the people like a 'pradhan sevak' and not a prime minister, and the common people also spoke confidently about the core issues. So, I am very much impacted, inspired and feeling humbled. Such a pradhan sevak is leading our country despite problems that arose due to the spread of COVID-19 in 2020 and the Russia-Ukraine (conflict) later. All of us are safe under his leadership and India is the fastest growing economy today," the Union Minister said.
