Maharashtra Govt Considering To Suspend Delhi-Mumbai Flights, Trains As Covid-19 Cases In National Capital
Coronavirus cases in Delhi have registered a sudden spike since October 28 when the daily infection breached the 5,000-mark for the first time.
With a sudden spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the national capital, the Maharashtra Government is considering halting flight and train services between Mumbai and Delhi. While there has been no official communication so far, several media outlets have claimed that the train services between Delhi and Mumbai could also be stopped. The report by PTI says that coronavirus cases in Delhi have registered a sudden spike since October 28 when the daily infection breached the 5,000-mark for the first time.
The national capital recorded its highest single-day spike of 8,593 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday last week. On Thursday, 104 deaths which was the highest number of fatalities in 5 months was recorded. The city had registered 93 deaths on June 16.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has blamed the rising pollution for the spike in Covid-19 cases. He said that the 'biggest reason' behind the spike in Covid-19 cases in Delhi, the chief minister said the situation was under control in the city till October 20.

Amid aggravating Covid-19 situation in New Delhi, speculations of a probable lockdown are going rife in the national capital which got further fuelled after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s press conference in which he talked about a local level lockdown.
However, refuting all the rumours, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that Delhi government has no intentions of imposing a lockdown.
