Maharashtra Crisis: Eknath Shinde Leaves For Mumbai To Meet Devendra Fadnavis & Governor
Earlier today, Shinde took to Twitter and dismissed rumours of finalising portfolio distribution with the BJP. He said there has been no such discussion with Fadnavis or BJP so far.
Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has left Goa for Mumbai and will meet BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis at his Sagar Bungalow today. Shinde left with the letter of support of 51 MLAs, reported ABP News. He is also expected to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari late in the evening and stake claim to form the government.
Earlier today, Shinde took to Twitter and dismissed rumours of finalising portfolio distribution with the BJP. He said there has been no such discussion with Fadnavis or BJP so far.
"There has been no discussion with BJP about who and how many ministerial posts will be there, it will happen soon. Until then, please don't believe the ministerial lists and rumors about it," Shinde's Twitter handle read.
Shinde also said that his focus would be to follow the idea of Hindutva as per Balasaheb Thackeray.
"Venerable Hindu Heart Emperor Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray's idea of Hindutva, Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Saheb's teachings, overall development of Maharashtra and development works in the constituency of MLAs is our focus," he tweeted.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the BJP core committee is underway at residence of former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. Maharashtra BJP in-charge CT Ravi, party leaders Chandrakant Patil, Girish Mahajan, Praveen Darekar are among others present at the meet.
Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray resigned before the scheduled floor test in the state Assembly on Thursday.
Uddhav Thackeray had taken oath as the chief minister of Maharashtra on November 28, 2019. After the Assembly polls in 2019, Thackeray's Shiv Sena parted ways with long-term ally BJP over the issue of sharing the chief ministerial post. It then formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance with the NCP and Congress.
