Nagpur: Man Posing As IAF Officer Extorts Rs 4 Lakh From Woman By Taking Intimate Photos, Police Say
Acting upon the woman's complaint, the police registered a case against the accused, with charges including rape, extortion, and several other offenses under the Indian Penal Code.
A 36-year-old woman from Nagpur has lodged a complaint against a man, alleging that he pretended to be an Indian Air Force officer and extorted nearly Rs 4 lakh from her by capturing her intimate photos and videos, an official informed on Sunday. Acting upon the woman's complaint, the police registered a case against the accused on Sunday, identified as Shyam Supatkar. The charges include rape, extortion, and several other offenses under the Indian Penal Code.
According to the woman, she encountered the accused, who operated under the false identity of Shyam Verma, on Facebook approximately four years ago, news agency PTI.
The accused claimed to be an Indian Air Force officer stationed in Gujarat but residing in Nagpur. Subsequently, they agreed to meet in person. During their meeting, Supatkar allegedly administered a sedative-laced beverage to the woman, causing her to lose consciousness. He then proceeded to capture her intimate photos and videos, she claimed.

Accused Absconded With Cash And Ornaments: Police
According to PTI's report, the official from Ajni police station stated that Supatkar allegedly coerced the woman into compliance by threatening to distribute her intimate visuals on social media platforms.
The woman asserted that the accused absconded with Rs 4 lakh in cash along with some gold and silver ornaments.
Upon discovering that the man was not affiliated with the Air Force, the woman quickly reported the incident to the authorities. However, as of now, Supatkar remains at large and has not been apprehended, stated police officials, the report stated.
In another case, three persons were arrested by the Social Security Branch (SSB) of the Nagpur Police following the dismantling of a sex racket allegedly run from a spa, resulting in the rescue of three girls, an official stated on Saturday. Among those detained are the spa proprietor located in the Deendayal Nagar vicinity, along with two accomplices, including a female, stated the official, PTI reported.
