Lucknow: Lathi-Charge On Students Protesting For Teacher Recruitment, SP-AAP Blame Yogi Govt
The UP government held an examination in 2019 for the recruitment of 69,000 teachers. That entire process has been accused of having irregularities by the students for two years.
Lucknow police, on Saturday lathi-charged students, who were conducting a candle-light march to protest against alleged irregularities during an assistant-teacher recruitment exam in 2019. The students took out the protest towards the residence of UP CM Yogi Adityanath where they were beaten up by the police.
Teacher candidates demanded that 69,000 teachers should be reinstated. Also, 22,000 more seats should be added. In the evening, when these students were taking out demonstrations and candle marches, then the police ran and beat them. A video of the same surfaced on Saturday after which, the politics has intensified on this.
The opposition has raised questions on the police action on the students. Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe at the Yogi government by tweeting. Akhilesh wrote, "Under the rule of BJP, the path is being paved to become 'Vishwa Guru' by lathi-charging future teachers. We are with the demands of 69000 teacher recruitment. Youth should say - don't want BJP."

Even Aam Aadmi Party's Sanjay Singh attacked Yogi government on the same.

pic.twitter.com/VTXX8iyXtY
