Ladakh Standoff | India, China Agree To Stop Sending More Troops To Frontline; May Hold 7th Round Of Military Level Meeting Soon
Ladakh Standoff: On September 21, Indian and Chinese Senior Commanders held sixth round of Military Commander-level meeting.
After the 14hour military level talks, both India and China mutually decided to to stop sending more troops to the Ladakh frontline, and refrain from unilaterally changing situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

On September 21, Indian and Chinese Senior Commanders held sixth round of Military Commander-level meeting. The two sides had candid and in-depth exchanges of views on stabilizing situation along LAC in India-China border areas.
In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, both sides said that they have agreed to implement consensus reached by the leaders of the two counties, strengthen communication on ground, avoid misunderstandings, stop sending more troops to frontline, refrain from unilaterally changing situation on ground and avoid any action that may complicate situation.
As reported by news agency ANI, the two sides also agreed to hold the 7th round of Military Commander-Level Meeting as soon as possible.
The joint statement further mentioned that India and China are expected to further speak over the practical measures to properly solve problems on the ground, and jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in the border area.

The sixth round of peace talks was held between Lt Gen Harinder Singh, the commander of the Leh-based 14 Corps of the Indian Army, and Major General Liu Lin, the commander of the South Xinjiang military region in China. The meeting between the two sides began at 9 AM at Moldo on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.
On September 10, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi discussed the border row and agreed on resolving the issue on the sidelines of a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meet in Moscow.
