Karni Sena President Shot Dead: The police have identified the Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi's Killers. A reward of Rs 5 lakh each has been announced for any information leading to their arrest.

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi News: The slain president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, was laid to rest on Thursday in his native village in the Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. The post-mortem examination of Gogamedi's body took place at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital on Wednesday night, according to Hanumangarh's Additional Superintendent of Police Subhash.

Subsequent to the autopsy, Gogamedi's remains were transported from the Rajput Sabha Bhawan to his hometown of Gogamedi in the Bhadra area of Hanumangarh, where the final rites were conducted on Thursday evening, reported news agency PTI. The funeral was attended by former minister Rajendra Gudha and office bearers of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena.

Gogamedi's wife, Sheela Shekhawat, who had been staging a protest outside the private hospital in Jaipur where Gogamedi's body had been held since Tuesday, concluded her dharna late Wednesday night. She mentioned that the police had provided her with a written assurance regarding the arrest of the accused within 72 hours and the suspension of the SHO of Shyam Nagar police station, along with other policemen found negligent, reported PTI.

Gogamedi was shot dead on Tuesday in the living room of his residence in Shyamnagar. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed on Wednesday to probe the murder. The police have identified the assailants, initiating operations to apprehend them. A reward of Rs 5 lakh each has been announced for any information leading to the arrest of the attackers, identified as Rohit Singh Rathore from Jusaria village in Makrana and Nitin Fauji from Dungarajat village in Haryana's Mahendragarh.

Meanwhile, activists of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena staged a protest on Thursday in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, over Gogamedi's murder. The protesters blocked the Indore-Ujjain Road, holding up traffic for a long time. Eventually, police officers managed to pacify the protesters and clear the road.

Karni Sena leader Anurag Pratap Singh Raghav was quoted by PTI as saying that if decisive action is not taken against Gogamedi's killers, the Karni Sena will give a "befitting reply". Raghav stated that the Karni Sena and other Rajput organisations had initially called for a bandh (shutdown) in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. However, this call was retracted as the Rajasthan government assured that the accused would be caught within 72 hours.

Protests against the tragic killing had also occurred in various parts of Madhya Pradesh on the preceding Wednesday.
