Bodies Of 4 Karnataka Devotees Who Died In Maha Kumbh Stampede To Reach Belagavi Today
Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda stated that IPS officer Hariram Shankar is overseeing the process of moving the bodies from Prayagraj to Delhi.

The mortal remains of four Karnataka devotees who lost their lives in the stampede at Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj are being transported to Belagavi on Thursday evening. The victims have been identified as Jyoti Deepak Hattarwath (44), her daughter Megha Deepak Hattarwath (24), Arun Khoparde (61), and Mahadevi Hemant Bhavanur (48).
Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda stated that IPS officer Hariram Shankar is overseeing the process of moving the bodies from Prayagraj to Delhi. "The mortal remains are being transported in two ambulances to Delhi, where embalming will be done before they are flown to Belagavi. The 3:20 pm IndiGo flight for the mortal remains and 4 accompanying family members and officers has also been arranged by Govt of Karnataka," he told reporters, as per agency reports. Special Deputy Commissioner Harsha from Belagavi has also been dispatched to Delhi to coordinate the arrangements.

Further, Minister Krishna Byre Gowda stated that there are no reports of any other Karnataka pilgrims being injured or hospitalized due to the stampede. However, the Nodal Officer of Karnataka, Harshal Boyar IAS, has been directed to take all necessary measures to verify if there are any more injured individuals from the state undergoing treatment in hospitals.
The tragic pre-dawn stampede occurred in the Sangam area of the Maha Kumbh Mela on Wednesday, as a massive crowd gathered for the holy dip on Mauni Amavasya, one of the most sacred days in the Hindu calendar. The incident resulted in at least 30 deaths and 60 injuries, with authorities still assessing the situation.
