Jhansi: 2 Army Personnel, Including JCO Killed As Barrel Of T-90 Tank Burst During Field Firing Exercise, Probe Ordered

A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident.

New Delhi: Two Indian Army personnel including a JCO died after the barrel of a T-90 tank burst during field firing exercise today in Babina Cantonment near Jhansi, as reported by the news agency ANI. A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident.

“Two Indian Army personnel including a JCO lost their lives after the barrel of a T-90 tank burst during field firing exercise today in Babina Cantonment near Jhansi. Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident,” news agency ANI quoted Indian Army officials as saying.

In another incidnt, a soldier of the Border Security Force (BSF) was injured in an IED blast near Markanar village under the Police Station limit of Koyalibeda in Chhattisgarh's Kanker on Friday.

"One BSF jawan was injured in an IED blast near Markanar village under Koylibeda PS limit," ANI quoted Shalabh Sinha, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kanker as saying. 

Earlier on March 14, an Assistant Sub-Inspector rank officer of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was killed in a high-pressure improvised explosive device (IED) blast attack by Naxals in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, which is within the 3 Km of ITBP's Sonpur camp.
