J-K: Police Bust Terrorist Network In Sopore, Seven Including 4 Militants Apprehended

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Saturday that four terrorists and three of their accomplices were apprehended in the Dangiwacha area of Sopore District.
According to the police spokesperson, after getting precise intelligence that the Al-Badr terrorist organisation was intending to carry out assaults on security personnel in Sopore at many locations, a combined CASO (cordon-and-search operation) was undertaken by the Police, and other security forces, ANI reported.

As per the media reports, following their exposure, another unidentified terrorist, Ashraf Nazir Bhat, was apprehended in a combined CASO by Sopore police and 21 RR, as were three terror associates/OGWs, Mohd Ashraf Malik, Mohd Afzal Thoka, and Shabir Ahmed Shah.
According to preliminary investigations, the detained individuals are associates/OGWs of the militant organisation LeT and have been providing logistical and other materialistic assistance to militants.
As a result, a case has been lodged at Police Station under relevant parts of the law, and additional investigation is underway, according to the statement.
Terrorists had earlier thrown a grenade at a combined party of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) at Bandipora, killing one police officer and injuring four others.
