The meeting, which also saw the participation of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) chief Kuldiep Singh and Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Pankaj Singh, lasted for around 2.45 hours, ANI reported.

The meeting assumes significance as, in a spate of targeted killings in the Kashmir valley, the principal and a teacher of a government school were killed by the terrorists in Srinagar earlier in the day.

“The terrorists shot dead two school teachers at Sangam Eidgah in Srinagar district at around 11 a.m.,” a police official said.

Earlier on Tuesday evening, a businessman was killed by the terrorists in Srinagar. The incident took place near Srinagar’s Iqbal Park where the terrorists fired upon Makhan Lal Bindroo, the owner of Bindroo Medicate. Bindroo, a Kashmiri Pandit, was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A street hawker identified as Virender Paswan, a resident of Bihar’s Bhagalpur district, was also shot dead by the terrorists near Madin Sahib in Hawal on the outskirts of Srinagar city on Tuesday evening.

Mohammad Shafi Lone, a taxi driver in Naidkhai in Bandipora district, was also shot dead by the militants.
