J&K: Five BSF Jawans injured after terrorists attack patrol vehicle returning from duty

The terrorists attacked BSF vehicle at Pantha Chowk area on the outskirts Srinagar city. Things are under control as of now and a search operation has been launched to find the terrorists.

New Delhi: Five Border Security Force personnel were injured on Monday evening after terrorists attacked their vehicle in the Pantha Chowk area on the outskirts Srinagar city, with one of them, stated to be in a serious condition, agencies reported.  Things are under control as of now and a search operation has been launched to find the terrorists. As per reports, the gunmen opened fired on the patrol vehicles of the Border Security Force near the BSF HQ at the Pantha Chowk at around 6:15 pm on Monday, when the vehicles were returning from patrol duty which resulted in injuries to five of the personnel. Ravi Deep Singh Sahi, Inspector General, CRPF was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: “Things under control. Today around 6 pm near BSF HQ, 2 cars which were returning from duty when terrorists fired. 4-5 ppl injured with bullet shots. A search operation is on.” News agency PTI quoted a BSF official as saying ‘the injured personnel, belonging to the 163rd battalion, have been hospitalised and the one jawan is stated to be in serious condition. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to track down the assailants, the agency reported. An earlier report stated that three jawans were injured in the terrorist attack.
