New Delhi: The Army apprehended a father-son duo from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Saturday, news agency PTI reported. The duo, identified as Sardar Abdul Hamid and his son Abbass of Polas village were nabbed in Gulpur sector immediately after they intruded into this side from across the border, Army officials said.
According to the Army, the arrested persons are being interrogated and it is not yet clear whether they crossed the border inadvertently or with some intention. However, no incriminating material was recovered from their possession, the officials said.
Earlier this month, a Pakistani intruder was killed and two others were arrested after the Army foiled an infiltration bid along LoC in Poonch, PTI reported.

Confirming the incident, Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand said, “Around midnight, the group crossed the LoC and started infiltrating into the Indian side. The intruders started to run away but they were engaged by fire, in which one intruder was shot dead, while the other two managed to run into the jungle.”
The Indian Army launched a search operation shortly after the incident, and one of the intruders was nabbed in a wounded condition, and the third one was apprehended later.
The Army officials recovered three bags with fourteen packets of narcotics weighing around 17 kg, notes of Pakistan currency, some documents, and eatables.
Earlier on March 31, Border Security Force (BSF) had also shot down a Pakistani drone along the international border in Ramgarh sector of Samba, according to reports.
