J&K: Terrorists Attack CRPF In Shopian, One Jawan Injured

In Jammu and Kashmir, a CRPF team was attacked by terrorists in Shopian this morning. One jawan was injured in the attack and has been admitted to the hospital. As per reports, the militants suddenly started firing at security personnel in Jainapora village of Shopian district. Security forces have taken over the entire area.
"Constable Ajay Kumar of CRPF's 178 battalions was injured in the attack," police said. He has been taken to the hospital for treatment. The area has been cordoned off for search."
A day earlier, in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, terrorists shot dead the BJP's Kisan Morcha chief in Kulgam, the sarpanch, and his wife. At around 4 pm on Monday, Anantnag police received information about a terrorist attack in the Lalchowk area of the district. The terrorists opened fire on the BJP sarpanch and his wife, a Panch, in a hit and run attack.
J&K terror hideout busted
Ahead of Independence Day, BSF on Monday averted a major terror attack by seizing a large number of arms and ammunition from a terrorist hideout in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. On receiving special input, a joint operation of BSF and Army was launched with the Special Operations Group of Police in the forests of Sangad (Tehsil Mankot) in the Mendhar police station area. During the search operation, a large number of arms and ammunition including two AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines, one Chinese pistol, 10 pistol magazines, four Chinese grenades, and four detonators were recovered from the hideout.
ADGP Mukesh Singh said on Monday that arrangements have already been made for the safety of all the places where Independence Day celebrations are scheduled to be held. Police and other security agencies are working on various intelligence inputs to ensure peaceful celebrations.
