J&K: One Terrorist Killed By Security Forces In Baramulla District, Encounter Underway

After receiving information of presence of militants in the district, security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Wanigam Bala in the Kreeri area of Baramulla

A terrorist has been killed in an encounter that broke out between security forces and unidentified militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district early Saturday morning, reported news agency ANI, citing police officials.

The encounter us underway and security forces are using minimum ammunition to protect a Mosque near the sight.

After receiving information of militants in the district, security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Wanigam Bala in the Kreeri area of Baramulla.

"Encounter has started at Wanigam Bala area of Baramulla district. Police and security forces are on the job," police said.

Over the last few months, several encounters between terrorists and security forces have taken place across Kashmir, in which many terrorists and their commanders have been killed.
