ISIS Module Case: NIA Files Chargesheet Against 6, Says Suspects Were Sharing 'DIY' Kits

The NIA said the members of the terror module had also been sharing “DIY kits” (Do It Yourself kits) among themselves and found to be raising funds to accomplish their terror plans.

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday filed a chargesheet against six persons in the Maharashtra ISIS terror module case, news agency PTI reported. The probe agency said the members were found to be having incriminating materials related to 'Hijrah' (migration) to Syria and propaganda magazines such as 'Voice of Hind' and 'Voice of Khurasan' published by the outlawed organisation.

The NIA said the members of the terror module had also been sharing “DIY kits” (Do It Yourself kits) among themselves and found to be raising funds to accomplish their terror plans, PTI reported.

The six members, Tabish Siddiqui, Zulfikar Ali, Sharjeel Shaikh, Aakif Ateeque Nachan, Zubair Shaikh and Adnanali Sarka, were arrested during multiple raids conducted by the NIA earlier in July.

The 4000-page chargesheet was filed before the NIA Special Court in Mumbai under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the NIA, the six persons had hatched a plot to further the activities of the outlawed terror outfit and intended to trigger fear among the people and threaten the security of the nation.

"They are all members of the proscribed ISIS outfit and had hatched a conspiracy to further the terrorist activities of the organisation, with the intention to strike fear and terror among people and threaten the security of India, its secular ethos and culture and the democratic system of governance," the NIA said in a statement.

“The material seized clearly exposed the strong and active links of the accused with ISIS and their efforts to motivate vulnerable youth to further the terror organisation's anti-India agenda,” the probe agency further said.

Notably, the NIA registered a case against Tabish Siddiqui and others in June this year on being informed that they had hatched a conspiracy to disrupt the unity, integrity, security and sovereignty of the country and wage a war against the government, PTI reported.
