Indian Army In Touch With PLA To Safely Bring Back Teen Abducted From Arunachal Pradesh: Sources
Sources from the Defence Ministry said that the People's Liberation Army of China was contacted as soon as the information was received.
New Delhi: The Indian Army has started efforts to safely bring back the teen, Miram Taron, who was taken by the Chinese Army from the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The local formation of the Army based in Arunachal Pradesh has established contact with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) on the hotline. However, if sources are to be believed, any reply from China is still awaited.
ANI quoted sources from the Defence Ministry as saying that the People's Liberation Army of China was contacted as soon as the information was received.
“Regarding the incident of missing youth Miram Taron from Arunachal Pradesh, it's informed that on receipt of info, the Indian Army immediately contacted PLA. Assistance from PLA has been sought to locate the individual on their side &return him as per established protocol,” the source said.

A 17-year-old boy, Miram Taron, was reported abducted from Upper Siang district’s Zido village in Arunachal Pradesh on January 18. Member of Parliament from East Arunachal Pradesh, Tapir Gao had tweeted regarding the same tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the Indian Army.
The statement from Defence sources came hours after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted the Modi-led government.
Taking to Twitter Gandhi wrote, “Just a few days before Republic Day a young boy, the future of India, was kidnapped by China. We stand with the family of Miram Taron and will not give up hope and won't accept defeat."
"The Prime Minister's cowardly silence is his statement... he doesn't care," he added.
Gao had tweeted on Wednesday that Taron was abducted from the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
"Chinese PLA has abducted Sh Miram Taron, 17 years of Zido vill. yesterday 18th Jan 2022 from inside Indian territory, Lungta Jor area (China-built 3-4 km road inside India in 2018) under Siyungla area (Bushing village) of Upper Siang dist., Arunachal Pradesh," he tweeted.
Gao added that his friends had escaped from the PLA and reported the matter to the authorities.
