India Successfully Test Fires BrahMos Supersonic Missile From Indian Navy’s Stealth Destroyer; Hits Target With Pin-Point Accuracy

DRDO Chairman Dr G Satheesh Reddy hailed all the personnel associated with the successful feat and stated hat BrahMos missiles will add to the capabilities of Indian Armed Forces in many ways.

India on Sunday conducted yet another successful trail of supersonic cruise missile BrahMos from Indian Navy’s indigenously-built stealth destroyer INS Chennai, hitting a target in the Arabian Sea. In a statement issued after the successful test fire, the Ministry of Defence said the missile hit the target successfully with pin-point accuracy after performing high-level and extremely complex manoeuvres. DRDO Chairman Dr G Satheesh Reddy also hailed all the personnel associated with the successful feat and stated hat BrahMos missiles will add to the capabilities of Indian Armed Forces in many ways. Earlier this month, the DRDO tested the anti-submarine weapon system, in a boost to naval warfare capabilities. Even last year in May, the Indian Air Force successfully test fired the aerial version of the BrahMos missile from a Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft. The BrahMos missile provides the IAF a much desired capability to strike from large stand-off ranges on any target at sea or on land with pinpoint accuracy by day or night and in all weather conditions. The IAF is also integrating the Brahmos supersonic cruise missile on over 40 Sukhoi fighter jets which is aimed at bolstering overall combat capability of the force. While the two neighbours are making efforts to reach to a peaceful negotiation, India is also preparing to strengthen its arms and forces on all fronts and has even tested several missiles to prove confidence over the Dragon country.
