The leader had posted the media release issued by the Ministry of foreign affairs of the People’s Republic of China. The release indicates China's firm stand on safeguarding its territorial sovereignty.
While pointing at the release, the leader said that national interest is paramount and the government’s duty is to protect it. The leader then goes on to ask, “Why has Status Quo Ante not been insisted on? Why is China allowed to justify the murder of 20 unarmed jawans in our territory? Why is there no mention of the territorial sovereignty of Galwan valley?” According to the report in The Print, Rahul Gandhi, who is a member of the parliamentary standing committee on defence, did not attend a single meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence since its formation as part of the 17th Lok Sabha last year. It doesn't deter him from launching scathing attack on the government regarding the military and diplomatic stand-off with China. Earlier, Gandhi took a jibe at Prime Minister Modi by calling him 'Surender Modi', where he had raised questions on whether “unarmed soldiers” had to fight the Chinese Army and that the Prime Minister had surrendered Indian territory to the Chinese aggression.
