IMD Predicts Light Rain In Coastal, Interior Karnataka; Signals Favourable Summer Showers
In Bengaluru, the next 48 hours will bring partly cloudy skies, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 34°C and 22°C, respectively.

Karnataka farmers can expect favourable summer showers boosting prospects for double cropping this year. The IMD has predicted good pre-monsoon rainfall due to a north-south trough, bringing isolated showers to parts of Interior Karnataka. Light rain and thundershowers are expected in coastal and select interior districts, while other areas remain dry on Wednesday.
Karnataka: IMD Weather Update
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported the formation of a north-south trough that extends from south Chhattisgarh to North Interior Tamil Nadu, passing through interior Maharashtra and Karnataka at 0.9 km above mean sea level. This system has already led to isolated rainfall over parts of Interior Karnataka, including areas such as Yedrami and Afzalpur in Kalaburgi district, Lingasugur in Raichur district, Indi in Vijayapura district, and Bellur in Mandya district.
According to IMD, light rain are likely in Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada districts, while isolated showers may occur in Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga. The rest of the state is expected to experience dry weather.
IMD said: "Light rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada districts and at isolated places over Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga districts. Dry weather likely to prevail over rest of the State."
In Bengaluru, the next 48 hours will bring partly cloudy skies, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 34°C and 22°C, respectively. Across North Interior Karnataka, temperatures will remain stable for the next 24 hours but are likely to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius thereafter. South Interior Karnataka will see a gradual increase of 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next few days, while temperatures in Coastal Karnataka are expected to remain steady for five days. Minimum temperatures over Interior Karnataka are also predicted to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
The highest maximum temperature of 38.2 C was recorded in Kalaburgi and the lowest of 19.9 was recorded in Chamarajanagar.
