'If Rahul Gandhi Does Not Give Up His Manic Arrogance...': BJP On 'Democracy' Remarks In UK

Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday stated that the Congress leader owed an apology to both Parliament and the entire nation.

Rahul Gandhi's recent statements in the UK were denounced by senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday as his "arrogance". He said that the Congress leader's "manic arrogance" was the result of the party's downfall, PTI reported.

Naqvi further stated that Rahul Gandhi owed an apology to both Parliament and the entire nation.

The former Union minister accused the Congress and its leaders of waging a "deliberate push" to disparage the nation's Parliament, constitutional institutions, and democratic principles in a statement.

In order to become the "chieftain" of the Opposition before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress is in the midst of a "feudal frenzy," according to Naqvi, who demanded that they shed their "maniac arrogance" in light of the "changing climate and attitude of the nation."

During his interactions in the UK recently, Gandhi has said that there is a "full-scale assault" on the Indian institutions and that the country's democratic processes are under threat.

Gandhi's comments have sparked a significant political debate, with the BJP accusing him of defaming India overseas and calling for international interference. The Congress has fired back, noting occasions in which Prime Minister Modi has brought up domestic issues while travelling.

"Former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today strongly condemned Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Indian Parliament and democracy in a foreign country and said that the Congress leader owed an apology to Parliament and the entire country," the statement released by the senior BJP leader’s office was quoted by PTI in its report.

"While talking to reporters in UP's Rampur today, Naqvi said the Congress and its leaders should come out of the feudal arrogance and must understand the changed atmosphere and mood of the country," the statement said.

The Congress' "craze for conspiracy" against the Indian Parliament and constitutional principles, on the other hand, is utterly unacceptable in a democracy, according to the statement quoting a top BJP leader.
