'I Felt Like Sachin, Amitabh Bachchan': UK PM Boris Johnson Thanks ‘Khaas Dost Modi’ For Amazing Reception
“I felt like Sachin Tendulkar upon my arrival and also like Amitabh Bachchan. I was everywhere to be seen. It was fantastic,” the British PM said.
New Delhi: United Kingdom's Prime Minister Boris Johnson kicked off the second day of his visit to India by expressing gratitude to his "Khaas Dost" Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday for the grand reception a day ago in the latter's home state of Gujarat, news agency ANI reported.
In a joint address with PM Modi, British PM Johnson said, “My friend, Prime Minister Narendra, my “khaas dost” (special friend), we’ve had a fantastic few days here in India. And yesterday, I became the first Conservative Prime Minister to visit Gujarat, which is your birthplace. I had an amazing reception."
“I felt like Sachin Tendulkar upon my arrival and also like Amitabh Bachchan. I was everywhere to be seen. It was fantastic,” the British PM said.
PM Modi and the British Prime Minister had delegation-level meetings at Hyderabad House, where they witnessed the signing of agreements between India and the United Kingdom. Following the negotiations, the two leaders held a joint news conference.
PM Modi gave Johnson a formal greeting at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi earlier today.

The British Prime Minister paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi earlier today by laying a wreath at Raj Ghat.
Boris Johnson landed in Delhi late Thursday and paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi at his Samadhi at Raj Ghat early today.
