Hijab Row: If I Can Don Skull Cap In Parliament, Why Stop Girls From Wearing Hijab In College, Says Owaisi
Meanwhile the Supreme Court has turned down an urgent listing of pleas seeking transfer of petitions filed in regard with the Hijab issue from Karnataka High Court to the apex court.
New Delhi: All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has been speaking in support of the girls wearing Hijab since the incident from Karnataka came to light.
Speaking on the same note, Owaisi gave a statement saying that if he can criticise the Prime Minister in the Parliament wearing a skull cap and a beard then why can't girls be allowed to wear Hijab to their educational institutions.
“Kerala High Court had noted that Burqa and Hijab are essential in Islam. If I can criticise the Prime Minister inside the Parliament donning a skull cap and beard then why don't they allow this girl to wear Hijab, let her study,” Owaisi said in a Moradabad public meeting as reported by Times of India.
