Agnipath Scheme protests
Protests broke out in several states after the Centre unveiled the Agnipath Scheme for recruiting soldiers across all three services. Thousands of Army exam candidates who took part in the protest have expressed their anger and demanded the cancellation of the Agnipath scheme. They want the army exam to be conducted as usual.
The protests ignited on Wednesday after the government announced the short-term contractual recruitment scheme for defense services. However, the situation did not get better even after the government extended the age limit from 21 to 23 years on Thursday evening.
