Haryana Election: BJP's First Candidate List Sparks Flurry Of Resignations

Differences have emerged among party leaders after the release of the first list of 67 candidates by the BJP for the Haryana assembly elections. In the first list, the party gave tickets to many former MPs as well as leaders who left the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and decided to join the BJP. But, the names of many prominent leaders from the party were missing from this list.

After the release of the first candidate list, several leaders have started leaving the BJP in Haryana. Several figures, including cabinet ministers, former MLAs, and the state president of BJP Kisan Morcha, have announced their resignations from the party after being denied tickets. This includes Haryana cabinet minister Chaudhary Ranjit Singh Chautala.

Ranjit Singh Chautala expressed his dissatisfaction over not receiving a ticket for the Rania assembly constituency, stating he will contest the elections from Rania regardless. Meanwhile, Laxman Napa also resigned from the BJP after being denied a ticket for the Ratia constituency.

Former BJP State Minister Karan Kamboj exited the party on September 5, stating his intent to work against the party after not being allowed to contest. Meanwhile, Minister of State Bishamber Singh voiced his dissatisfaction publicly but confirmed he would remain with the party.

Voting for all 90 assembly seats in Haryana will take place in a single phase on October 5, with the election results to be announced on October 8.
