Haryana Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala Tests Positive For Covid-19

Chautala's Covid-19 positive report came almost a month after Haryana's CM contracting the virus. On August 24, Manohar Lal Khattar also shared that he has tested positive for Coronavirus.

New Delhi: Amid the rising cases of Coronavirus in the country, Haryana's Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday too tested positive for Covid-19. The 32-year-old politician took to Twitter and informed people about his health. ALSO READ | MHA Issues New SOPS And Guidelines For Cinema Halls, Multiplexes As They Reopen From October 15 In a short video, Chautala can be heard saying that he has tested positive for the deadly virus and also urged people who had come in his contact in the past few days to take care and if needed get themselves tested. Chautala's Covid-19 positive report came almost a month after Haryana's Chief Minister contracting the virus. On August 24, Manohar Lal Khattar also shared that he has tested positive for Coronavirus and just like his deputy, he urged his colleagues who came in contact with him over the past week to get tested for the virus as well. "I appeal to all colleagues and associates who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately," Khattar tweeted. Apart from Chautala, Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs too tested positive for the highly contagious virus. As per reports, total six assembly staff have also tested positive for Covid-19. Meanwhile, India on Tuesday 61,267 fresh infections of the novel Coronavirus, taking the case tally to 66,85,082, health officials said. This is the lowest daily spike since August. According to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data, the fatality rate has come down to 1.55 per cent. Out of the total cases, 9,19,023 are currently active, 56,62,490 have been discharged, while 1,03,569 lost the battle against the viral disease. Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit with a total of 14,53,653 cases, including 38,347 deaths; followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
