"Insha Allah, Paar Jayenge": BJP Candidate Nauksham Chaudhary Hopes For An Improbable Victory From Haryana's Punhana

Commending developmental works of Modi and ML Khattar, Nauksham said she was impressed and influenced by the Bharatiya Janata Party while she was living abroad and that’s when it struck her to go back and contest polls.

(Haryana Assembly Elections 2019) Gurugram: Nauksham Chaudhary is one of the most talked about candidates in fray for Haryana polls. Hailing from Mewat, Nauksham relinquished her Rs 1 cr plum job, a comfortable lifestyle abroad and chose to fight elections on a BJP ticket from Punhana. Speaking to ABP News, Nauksham said the motive behind quitting her Public Relations job in London was to serve her people and take up their issues at a larger level.” Nauksham, a graduate from Delhi's Miranda House, comes from an affluent family from Mewat with her father RS Chaudharybeing a retired judge and a bureaucrat. Her mother Ranjit Kaur is a secretary in Haryana's revenue department. She believes a lot is yet to be done in the district which is one of the backward regions  in the state. She maybe a greenhorn but what differentiates Nauksham from other candidates is that is she fluently speaks in 10 languages, possesses triple MA in 3 subjects and comes across as an educated politician striving to bring about a long-pending change. “I would prefer seeking votes in Mewati language, than showing off my command in Italian and French languages. I have entered politics to bring about a change in Mewat which is deprived of basic facilities”. Violence by Gau Rakshas and Muslims not being allowed to read Namaaz in the open have haunted the region and been the major talking points in the past few years. Unfazed by the narrative that BJP is anti-Muslim and hasn't won from this constituency, 26-year-old Nauksham asserts “people in Punhana have now witnessed how BJP takes other communities along and have realized the previous governments before BJP have just offered lip service and done nothing”. Nauksham emphasized the locals are well aware of her family’s credentials and are convinced that they are in safe hands. When asked how does she intend to outperform her rivals in the the elections, Nauksham says the region demands development and is the only recourse for people to give votes and BJP she believes over the years has succeeded in winning their trust. Commending developmental works of Modi and ML Khattar, Nauksham said she was impressed and influenced by the Bharatiya Janata Party while she was living abroad and that’s when it struck her to go back and contest polls. Nauksham said her first priority would be women security. “Even as I want to see development in Mewat, women security would definitely be my first priority. Youngsters here are directionless. In future, I see schools, colleges and a university to be set up.” Hopeful of her victory in the upcoming polls, Nauksham says “Insha Allah paar jayenge” (will triumph, if Allah wills it). Punhana seat is held by Rahish Khan, an independent candidate who had supported BJP after winning 2014 Haryana polls. Assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra would be held on October 21 and the results will be declared on October 24.
