Hyderabad To Send Off First Pilgrims, Departure From Nampally Haj House
The inaugural flights for the Haj pilgrimage will take off from Hyderabad on Wednesday, as reported by the Deccan Chronicle. This will mark the commencement of the holy journey for thousands of pilgrims. The event, to be held at the Haj House in Nampally, Hyderabad, will witness the presence of religious scholars and key figures.
Shaikh Liyakat Hussain, the executive officer of the TS Haj Committee, told the Deccan Chronicle, that provisional selection has been made for waitlisted pilgrims numbered from 1,725 to 1,970. He, as per the report, urged them to fulfil the necessary requirements by depositing the stipulated amount through designated banks or using the e-payment facility provided on the Haj Committee of India’s website.
Pilgrims have been reminded to submit their original passports to the TS Haj Committee between 11 AM and 5 PM on wednesday.
Flight With 320 Pilgrims To Take Off From Srinagar Airport Today
A total of 7,008 Haj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir are set to embark on the pilgrimage to Mecca and Madina this year. The first flight is scheduled to depart from Srinagar International Airport on May 9, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported citing officials.
Shujhat Qureshi, the executive officer of the J&K Haj Committee, ensured a smooth and hassle-free experience for the pilgrims, as per the report. He confirmed the meticulous arrangements made for the pilgrimage.
He noted that 6,852 pilgrims, including those from Ladakh, will depart from Srinagar, while 541 will leave from other airports, primarily from Delhi. The departure will commence on May 9, with the first batch consisting of 320 pilgrims.
As per the report, 37 women pilgrims are undertaking the sacred journey with a Mahram, with the majority departing from Srinagar.
