New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today address a public rally in poll-bound Gujarat’s Valsad and will also attend a mass marriage ceremony in Bhavnagar, reported news agency ANI. The Prime Minister will address a public meeting at Kaprada village in Valsad district at 3 pm today. Later at around 5:45 pm, he will reach Bhanvagar where he will attend the mass marriage ceremony ‘Papa Ni Pari’ Lagnotsav 2022.

At the ceremony, 552 girls will be getting married during the ceremony who do not have fathers.

Today’s visit by PM Modi to his home state will be the first one after the Election Commission of India announced the poll schedule for Gujarat.

The election will take place in two phases in the state where in the first phase, 89 assembly constituencies will undergo polling on December 1 and in the second phase, 93 assembly constituencies will undergo polling on December 5 and the votes will be counted on December 8 and the entire process will be completed by December 10.

The BJP has won six consecutive assembly polls in Gujarat. The Congress is keen to take an early decision on candidates to give them more time for campaigning and is seeking to bolster its campaign through yatras.

Unlike previous elections, this year Aam Aadmi Party is also fighting the election with full might, led by Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National convener Arvind Kejriwal, which has made it a triangular contest.

The ABP-CVoter Opinion Poll has predicted a seventh consecutive term for incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party in Gujarat with a projection of 135 to 143 seats, expanding the margin by 40 seats.

Meanwhile the Congress party that won 77 seats in 2017 polls is expected to remain limited to 36 to 44 seats in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly Polls 2022.

Debutant Aam Aadmi Party may struggle to gain a foothold in BJP’s turf with a single seat projection in the upcoming polls
