G20: Biden, Sunak, Trudeau and Other World Leaders To Stay At These Hotels, Check List

US President Joe Biden will be staying at ITC Maurya Sheraton while UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will be staying at Shangri-La and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau will arrive at The Lalit.

India is all set to host the world leaders on the centre stage at the G20 Summit in the national capital on September 9 and 10. The summit will be attended by some of the most prominent world leaders including US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau. Strict security arrangements in the “controlled zone” of New Delhi district and elsewhere in the city has been put in place for the guests who would be staying in around 3,500 rooms across various hotels in Delhi and Gurugram. 

India will be hosting 19 heads of nations and their spouses from the G20 member nations and countries invited as guests including  Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.

Who’s Staying Where?

  • US President Joe Biden will be staying at the ITC Maurya Sheraton where commandos of the secret service will be present on every floor. A special lift has been designated to take Biden to his room on the 14th floor, according to various media reports. 
  • UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will stay at Connaught Place’s Shangri-La Hotel. The German delegation including Chancellor Olaf Scholz is also likely to stay here. 
  • Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be staying at The Lalit hotel along with a Japanese delegation. 
  • The Chinese delegation, to be headed by Premier of the State Council Li Qiang, will be staying at Taj Palace. The delegation from Brazil will also be staying at the same hotel located in Chanakyapuri. 
  • French President Emmanuel Macron will be staying in Claridges Hotel at Moti Lal Nehru Marg.. 
  • Australian PM Anthony Albanese will arrive at Connaught Place’s Imperial Hotel for his stay. 
  • The Turkish delegation will be staying at the Oberoi Hotel.
  • The Italian delegation will have their stay divided between two hotels, JW Marriott in New Delhi Aerocity and the Hyatt Regency at Bhikaji Cama Place. 
  • The delegations from the Netherlands, Nigeria, and the European Union will share their stay at Janpath’s Le Meridien. 
    Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, along with his delegation will be staying at the Leela Palace.
