Six men loot family, kill driver & 'rape' women travelling near Yamuna Expressway
Uttar Pradesh: In yet another case of lawlessness in UP, a tragic incident took place near Noida’s Yamuna Expressway on the wee hours of Thursday when a family of eight travelling to Bulandshahr was stopped by unidentified miscreants, who shot at the driver, attempted to rape women and looted the family.
The family was travelling from Jewar to Bulandshahr in an Eco sports car at around 1:30 am, when a group of men stood on their way and stopped their car. They thereafter shot at the driver, who died at the spot.
The woman who was travelling in the car was attacked by the miscreants and a rape attempt was made.
As per police reports, the miscreants punctured two of the tyres of the car. As per sources, the driver called the car owner after the car puncture took place, who thereafter called PCR; unfortunately no police help reached the spot on time.
Yamuna Expressway stretching 165 kms, and connects international tourist destinations of Delhi and Agra. Yamuna Expressway, a 6-lane (extendable to 8 lane) access controlled Expressway, is planned to have 5 LFDs (Land of concessionaire) with facilities of 4 Toll Plazas, and 6 Interchanges along the entire length.
The area covers approx. 2,689 sq. kms falling in six districts to be developed in two phases.
A probe has been launched by the police after the family lodged a complaint.
No arrests have been made so far.
