'Expect agencies take note': BJP on alleged video of Tej Bahadur Yadav threatening to kill PM for Rs 50 cr
Yadav on Monday moved the Supreme Court challenging the Election Commission's decision to cancel his candidature from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting.
New Delhi: A controversial has emerged on social media showing former Border Security Force (BSF) trooper Tej Bahadur Yadav, whose nomination was cancelled from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, allegedly saying that he could kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he was paid Rs 50 crores.
ABP News has not been able to independently verify the video.
The Bharatiya Janata Party said it was stunned by the statements of Yadav and urged all agencies to take note of this threat.
“Stunned by statements of Tej Bahadur Yadav. He was drafted by Samajwadi Party (SP) from Varanasi, his candidature has been nullified for various reasons. We can see on TV how he's telling a group that he's willing to hatch a plot to assassinate PM Modi for Rs 50 crore,” BJP national spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said.
“Parties like Congress rallied behind such anti-social forces rather than the govt is a matter of concern. The fact that he was sought to be drafted as a candidate by SP, it really stuns us. We condemn it, we expect all agencies to take note of this threat,” he added.
Meanwhile, Yadav on Monday moved the Supreme Court challenging the Election Commission's decision to cancel his candidature from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting.
Yadav, who was dismissed in 2017 after he posted a video on Facebook complaining about the food served to BSP troopers in base camps, was fielded by the Samajwadi Party as its candidate from the high-profile Varanasi seat.
Yadav had accused the BJP of taking "dictatorial steps" to stop him from fighting elections.
