Drunk Passenger Onboard Bengaluru-Bound Indigo Flight Tries To Open Emergency Door, Handed Over To CISF

A drunk passenger onboard Bengaluru-bound Indigo flight tries to open the emergency door flap. He was later handed over to CISF.

A 40-year-old passenger onboard a Delhi-Bengaluru IndiGo flight tried to open the emergency door flap of the aircraft in an inebriated state. According to ANI, the incident occurred around 7.56 am on Friday. The passenger was handed over to CISF in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Earlier, A Varanasi-bound IndiGo Flight (6E897) from Bengaluru having 137 passengers onboard made an emergency landing at Shamshabad Airport in Telangana on Tuesday morning. ANI reported citing DGCA that the landing was made at 6.15 am after the plane encountered a technical problem.

A drunk elderly Swedish national was arrested on Thursday for allegedly abusing and molesting an IndiGo crew member on a Bangkok-Mumbai flight. He was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Court on Friday and was released on a bail of Rs 20,000, a probe into the matter is underway, reported news agency IANS. 

The accused, identified as one Klas Erik HJ Westberg, 63, was arrested after the IndiGo flight (6E-1052) landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, for alleged unruly behaviour on the flight.

As per the statements of the eyewitnesses recorded by the police, the accused started behaving in an unruly manner while demanding seafood and continued with his tantrums throughout the journey. The air hostess informed him that there was no seafood available and then served him chicken. However, when she asked him to pay the bill, he allegedly held her hand.

The crew member pushed him back to his seat and asked him to complete the transaction when the accused got up and started to molest her.

Earlier on Saturday, a full emergency was declared at the Delhi airport after Dubai-bound FedEx aircraft suffered a bird hit soon after take-off, an airport official said.  On Saturday, at 10.46 am flight no. FX5279 was forced to make an emergency landing after being hit by a bird shortly after takeoff. At 1.44 pm, the plane landed safely and took off again. FedEx operates Dubai-bound aircraft. The flight was scheduled to arrive in Dubai at 3.29 pm.
