‘Don’t Have Any Fear’: Gautam Gambhir On Death Threat Emails From ISIS-Kashmir

“I do not have any kind of fear. Intelligence Bureau (IB) investigation is on,” said Gambhir, who received a third death threat email last week.

New Delhi: Former cricketer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Gautam Gambhir has said he is not afraid of the death threat emails received by him, adding the matter is being investigated by the Intelligence Bureau.

“I do not have any kind of fear. Intelligence Bureau (IB) investigation is on,” said Gambhir, who received a third death threat email last week.

“But I do not stop myself to do work and take part in such types of events. My main focus is on the success of this event now,” he added after inaugurating the first match of the East Delhi Premier League at the Yamuna Sports Complex earlier on Tuesday.

The cricketer-turned-politician had received a third threat email last week from the ‘ISIS Kashmir’ stating even the Delhi Police will not be able to protect him.

“The third mail is challenging Delhi Police. It is written in the email that Delhi Police will not be able to do anything. They have spies in Delhi Police too and every information about Gambhir is reaching to them,” ANI quoted a source as saying.

The third email to Gambhir, as per sources, comes after the police identified an account handler Sahid Hamid behind the earlier emails.

“We are going to kill you and your family,” read the first email received by Gambhir.

“We intended to kill you, but you survived yesterday. If you love the life of your family, stay away from politics and the Kashmir issue,” the second email read.

Security has been stepped up outside Gambhir’s residence following the email threats.
