Earlier on Thursday, the apex court said that the ban on firecrackers needs to be followed strictly as this was essential to protect the right to life.

The apex court maintained that it was not against any festival or celebration.

“We are not against any particular festival or celebration but we cannot permit others to play,” said an apex bench of Justices MR Shah and AS Bopanna.

“We don't want to come in the way of enjoyment but for it, one cannot play with fundamental rights of others,” the bench added.

Emphasizing on the implementation of its previous orders, the apex court said that the authorities entrusted with the task to implement orders must show more responsibility.
