Disproportionate Assets Case: Maha ACB Serves Notice To Uddhav Faction MLA Rajan Salvi's Family
The Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau served notice to Uddhav Thackeray faction MLA Rajan Salvi's family to appear before it on Friday in an alleged disproportionate assets case.
New Delhi: Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has served notice to Uddhav Thackeray faction MLA Rajan Salvi's family asking them to appear for questioning today, March 24, in an alleged disproportionate assets case.
The notices were sent to the wife, brother and sister-in-law of Salvi, asking them to appear for questioning, according to ANI. ACB has already interrogated Rajan Salvi in the disproportionate assets case.
Commenting on this, Salvi told the media that no matter what happens, he will stand with Uddhav Thackeray.
“ACB has questioned me 4 times in this matter. They will interrogate my brother, sister-in-law and wife today and tomorrow. Whatever happens, I will always stand with Uddhav Thackeray ji, I am not afraid. When I got the first notice, the same day I contacted Uddhav Thackeray, he said keep fighting, I am with you”, Salvi was quoted by ANI.
Last week, Salvi told ANI that efforts are ongoing to put him under pressure.
"Efforts to put pressure on me are underway, and my family is being targeted for that matter. This is working. Since this notice, my mother, who is a very aged person, is seen worried every now and then. The pressure mechanism has started to work", Rajan Salvi told ANI.
He then alleged that as soon as he leaves the Uddhav Thackeray faction and joins the BJP or Shinde faction, all these charges will get white-washed off his shoulders.
Last week, the Bombay High Court granted relief to former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and his family in an alleged disproportionate assets case. The High Court also imposed a cost of ₹ 25,000 on the petitioners holding that the PIL was bereft of any evidence and that it was nothing but an abuse of the process of law.
The petition alleged that Uddhav Thackeray and his family never disclosed any particular service, profession or business as their official source of income. “Yet, we find they have huge properties in a metro city like Mumbai and in Raigad district, which may run into crores,” said the PIL, according to PTI.
Citing raids CBI and ED raids on people “who are very very close to the Thackeray family”, the PIL claimed that the Thackerays have links with “huge undisclosed properties, cash and other wealth”.
