'Desh Ko Bachana Hai, BJP Ko Bhagana Hai': TMC Says As Mamata, Abhishek Banerjee Set To Attend Oppn Meet Tomorrow

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Thursday announced that she will not be attending the meeting of the Opposition leaders in Patna.

Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will attend the Friday meeting of Opposition leaders called by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in Patna on Friday. “Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee are going to the opposition meeting for the nation and to save democracy,” Riju Datta, TMC spokesperson told news agency ANI on Thursday.

“Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee are going in the interest of the nation and the people of this country and to save the constitution. In the wake of 2024 elections, we have only one aim, to eliminate BJP in the interest of the country,” Datta said.

“Senior leaders from Congress, Akhilesh Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Stalin, everyone will be present and all of them will decide the strategy for 2024 polls,” he added.

“Desh Ko Bachana Hai, BJP Ko Bhagana Hai (have to eliminate BJP and save the country),” said the TMC spokesperson.

BSP Supremo Mayawati Announces Not To Attend Meeting

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Thursday announced that she will not be attending the meeting of the Opposition leaders in Patna. In a series of tweets, the former Uttar Pradesh CM said that parties like Congress and BJP do not have the ability to implement the constitution of Bhimrao Ambedkar.

“In a country suffering from inflation, poverty, unemployment, backwardness, illiteracy, ethnic hatred, religious frenzy/violence etc., it is clear from the stricken condition of Bahujans that parties like Congress and BJP do not have the ability to properly implement the humanistic egalitarian constitution of Bhimrao Ambedkar.”

She alleged that the opposition parties did not seem to be seriously concerned about their objectives.

“80 Lok Sabha seats of UP are said to be the key to electoral success, but it does not seem from the attitude of the opposition parties that they are serious and truly concerned about their objective here. Without the right priorities, will the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections here really bring about the necessary change?” she added.
