Dent In Oppn Unity Ahead Of 2024 Lok Sabha Polls? Rahul Gandhi Rules Out Any Tie-Up With TRS
"There is no TRS-Congress partnership," Rahul Gandhi said at a press conference in Kothur, Telangana.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday ruled out any tie-up with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). The statement comes in the backdrop of Telangana chief minister and TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao has been rallying to unify the opposition ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
Rahul Gandhi in a press conference at Kothur, during the Telangana leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, said: "There is no question of a TRS-Congress alliance."
"Telangana CM believes he is running a national party. He is welcome to think that he is running an international part," he said.

On the occasion of Dusshera, Telangana CM KCR, seeking for a national role ahead of the 2024 election, founded the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), a new version of his party.
Rao has stated his intention to run against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024. He has greatly increased his vitriol against the BJP in the last year, boycotting PM Modi's events and not even greeting him at the airport on his travels.
Attacking the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Rahul Gandhi said: "Congress held internal elections, wonder when RSS-BJP, TRS will have polls."

Gandhi further stated that his party is Democratic and does not run a "dictatorship."
"You saw that just a few days ago there was an election in the Congress Party, we democratically elected our new president."
"It's our DNA that we don't run a Dictatorship," Rahul Gandhi said.

He further slammed BJP by stating that "Lot of damage done to the institutional framework of our country under the current government at the Centre."
In response to the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections, the Congress leader stated, "Congress contesting Gujarat polls effectively; AAP only in air, nothing on the ground," PTI reported.
