AAP Leader Amanatullah Khan Sent To 14-Day Judicial Custody In Waqf Graft Case

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan was sent to 14 days of judicial custody on Monday in a corruption case related to the alleged misappropriation of Delhi Waqf Board funds. He was presented in Rouse Avenue court today by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Khan was arrested after the ACB raided his residence and five other places in connection with the matter.

Raids were conducted at the residences of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and his business partner Hamid Ali Khan Masood. Two pistols and some ammunition, as well as Rs 24 lakh in cash were discovered from two of his associates, news agency ANI had reported.
Earlier, a Delhi Court extended the police remand of Amanatullah Khan for five days.
Khan was summoned by the ACB in connection with a case involving suspected financial misappropriation and other irregularities in the operation of the Delhi Waqf Board, which Khan leads as its chairman.
An FIR has also been lodged in relation to the alleged corruption on the board.
In a statement, the ACB said that Khan had illegally hired 32 persons while acting as the chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board. This was done in defiance of all norms and guidelines of the government. He was accused of engaged in corruption and favouritism.
A total of Rs 24 lakh in cash was recovered along with two illegal weapons, news agency ANI reported citing officials.
The statement further said that four locations were searched based on the inputs received while questioning and based on information developed by the Anti-Corruption Branch.
Khan's associate Kausar Imran Siddiqui was also arrested from Telangana. He is the fund manager of the accused, as per the ACB.
