Govt Sets May 22 As Date For Unification Of Three Municipal Corporations Of Delhi
The bill to reunify the three existing Municipal Corporations of Delhi into one got the Parliament's approval earlier on April 5.
New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued a notification stating the Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2022, will come into force on May 22. The MHA notification added all the three Municipal Corporations of Delhi - North DMC, South DMC and East DMC – will merge into one entity.
The bill to reunify the three existing Municipal Corporations of Delhi into one got the Parliament's approval earlier on April 5.
The Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, passed by the Lok Sabha on March 31, unifies the civic bodies “with an aim to provide greater transparency, improved governance and more efficient delivery of civic service for the people of Delhi”.
