Delhi Lockdown Extended Till 17th May, Delhi Metro To Remain Shut From Tomorrow For 7 Days
The Delhi Chief Minister said that though the cases have reduced but the brutal Covid wave is disastrous, therefore Delhi will continue to be under lockdown till 17th May, 5am. Kejriwal said that this lockdown will be stricter and Delhi Metro will be shut.
New Delhi: The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference on Sunday and said that after implementing the lockdown from April 26th, cases in the national capital have reduced and the positivity rate of the city came down from 35 per cent to 26 per cent.
Kejriwal said that the govt utilized the lockdown period to improve medical infrastructure and aimed at increasing the number of beds. The Delhi govt in collaboration with the central govt is trying to overcome the oxygen shortage which the capital was facing for the last few weeks.
Kejriwal reiterated the issue of vaccine shortage in the city and appealed to the centre to provide an adequate amount of vaccines.

A notification from Delhi Chief Minister's Office said that marriage ceremonies at public places/ banquet halls/hotels will be prohibited during the lockdown.
However, marriage ceremonies allowed to be organized at home or in Court.
Delhi recorded 249 covid-19 deaths today which is the lowest since 12th April. The positivity rate stood at 231.67%.
