Delhi Excise Policy Case: CBI Searched My Office, Tweets Manish Sisodia. Agency Says Not A Raid

“Today, the CBI has reached my office yet again. They are welcome,” the AAP leader wrote on Twitter in a post in Hindi.

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials were at his office as part of the ongoing investigation in the excise policy case.

“Today, the CBI has reached my office yet again. They are welcome,” the AAP leader wrote on Twitter in a post in Hindi.

“They had carried out raids at my home and office, searched my bank locker…. even went to go and search my village. They did not find anything against me… and won't be able to as I have done nothing wrong. I have honestly worked to serve the education sector for the children in Delhi,” Sisodia tweeted.

However, sources in CBI said that their team had reached Sisodia's office to collect a document and it was not a raid.

Notably, Manish Sisodia's house has been subject to multiple searches by the central agency in August after it got an approval for investigation from Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

The Deputy Chief Minister is the prime accused in the excise policy case that involves alleged kickbacks to political leaders by private players in exchange for liquor shop licenses in Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had earlier claimed that Sisodia would be arrested over his alleged connection with the scam and called it a “political vendetta” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
