CWC Meeting: Congress May Get New President By Oct 2022, Organisational Elections To Be Held - Sources
CWC Meeting: Congress Working Committee meeting took place at AICC office in Delhi. Congress' Interim President Sonia Gandhi and Former President Rahul Gandhi are also a part of the meeting.
CWC Meeting: The Congress Working Committee met at the AICC office in Delhi today. In the meeting, Congress President Sonia Gandhi targeted the leaders of the party's G23 group by saying that she is the permanent president of the party and there is no need to resort to media to speak to them. According to official sources, Congress' Organisation Election process may begin from November 1. The party may also get a new president by October next year. According to sources, internal elections are scheduled to be held in 2022.

Sonia Gandhi stresses on upcoming assembly elections:
Referring to the upcoming assembly elections, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said, "We may face a number of challenges, but if we remain united, disciplined and focus only on the interest of the party, I am confident that we will do well." "Preparations for upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur are also underway.", said Sonia Gandhi. In reference to organization's internal elections, she said "The entire organization wants the Congress to be strong again, but doing this would require solidarity. The party's interest need to be kept above all." Self-control and Discipline are the need of the hour.
In its CWC meeting on January 22, the party had decided that the Congress would have an elected president by June 2021, but it was postponed to the May 10 CWC meeting due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The CWC meeting comes at a time when Sushmita Dev, Jitin Prasada, Louisinho Faleiro and many other leaders have left the Congress and joined other parties in the last few months.
